Our Private and Open Studio sessions
Available Monday to Saturday from
1 - 4 pm
Everybody has a different story. If you’re stepping onto the mat for the first time or returning after a break, a group class can sometimes feel overwhelming.
Our private sessions offer a welcoming, supportive space where you can focus entirely on your personal wellness journey. We will listen to your goals, assess your movement patterns, and build a foundational practice that leaves you feeling empowered, strong, and energized.
Invest in yourself and discover what mindful, personalized movement can do.
If you are looking for the independence of a self-paced practice but still want the confidence of expert guidance, our Open Studio Format is designed for you.
Your journey starts with two dedicated private sessions where we assess your movement patterns, discuss your personal goals, and map out a custom program tailored specifically to your body.
Once your foundation is set, you will transition into the Open Studio space by moving at your own pace through your customized routine, while an expert instructor remains in the room. It is the perfect balance of personal autonomy and professional guidance.

Balnc Workshops
Focus Pilates offers Balnc Workshops that are taught by Rena Shields, who is a Registered Clinical Pilates Practitioner with the Canadian Pilates Method Society

Course Overview
Discover how to bridge the gap between rehabilitation and Pilates. This immersive, 3-hour practical workshop is specifically designed for movement professionals looking to integrate Suspension Therapy into their existing Pilates, rehab, or conditioning repertoire.
Working with Suspension introduces a unique dynamic to movement: leveraging body weight against gravity to simultaneously challenge core stability, improve joint decompression, and refine neuromuscular control. Whether your goal is to help a patient recover from an injury or help an athlete find their deepest core connections, this workshop will give you the practical tools to do so.
What You Will Learn
During this intensive 3-hour session, we will dive deep into both the theory and the hands-on application of suspension work:
The Science of Suspension: Understand the biomechanics of suspension training, including how altering the vector, pendulum, and base of support changes the neuromuscular demand.
Pilates Meets Suspension: Learn how to translate classic Pilates principles (centering, control, precision) onto a suspended apparatus to deepen client body awareness.
Rehab & Prehab Applications: Explore specific progressions and regressions tailored for Kinesiologists and Physiotherapists to address joint instability, spinal decompression, and faulty movement patterns.
Hands-On Tactile Cueing: Master effective verbal and tactile cueing strategies unique to suspension straps to ensure client safety and optimal muscle recruitment.
Creative Programming: Walk away with a versatile library of exercises and a framework to seamlessly weave suspension work into 1-on-1 clinical sessions or dynamic group classes.
Why Attend?
Expand Your Toolkit: Add a highly effective, versatile modality to your practice that requires minimal space but yields maximum results.
Interdisciplinary Networking: Connect, collaborate, and share insights with a diverse group of local Pilates instructors, physios, and kin professionals.
CEC / Professional Development: A certificate of attendance will be provided. The Canadian Pilates Method Society provides 3 Continuing Education Credits with this workshop.
